Hello all I’ve (26F) been working here for a little under a year now, yet it is very clear to everyone how I think as I’m not shy to tell people how, what, or why I think what I think about current events. However with this there were definitely a fair share or people who needed to inject their differing opinion every single time I said anything.
Let’s just say this co-workers name is Bob. Bob would take the time to always find me if he knew something would get under my skin. For example I have been chasing a public health masters degree and been adamantly against RFK being head of public health. So of course Bob being Bob rolled over to my office to joke about how RFK got my dream job, how he will actually help the USA, and how I should just be appreciative how someone like him is in office and will actually help. I tried my best to ignore it and just move on.
However recently I guess with him getting more comfortable or just cockier who really knows. Bob would now make some comments about not just politics but about me. Some of which would be how my pants don’t fit right (My butt is rather big and any pants look ‘tight’.), how Asian girls are usually small and petite, just things to get even more under my skin.
While I have told my boyfriend about this all and how it gets under my skin so much, a deep deep deep part of me can’t stop imaging Bob using me and talking down to me as he did. I don’t wanna share this with my boyfriend as it sounds so bad and quite honestly might be what Bob wants.
Truly stuck with letting him continue this verbal barrage on my liberal ideals and just me as a person or say or do something. That or flirting back with Bob and his degrading comments.
