College break changed things.
I told myself I needed distance from Dave, from Jelly, from everything that had gotten so messy. That’s when I started talking a lot to Aarav. He wasn’t intense or complicated like Dave. He was easy to be around, someone who made things feel simple again. With him, I didn’t feel like I was hiding anything or carrying secrets. But to do Dave he was just like another junior, and when he found out about him being with me, he didn’t care much.
We started spending time together, small things at first. Coffee, long walks, random conversations that stretched for hours. It slowly turned into something real, something I didn’t have to question every second.
When college started again, Dave noticed almost immediately.
At first, it was just the way he looked at us. Then he began showing up wherever I was. He would interrupt conversations, find excuses to talk to me, act like nothing had changed between us. Around Jelly, he became overly caring, almost like he was trying to prove something to everyone watching. Jelly was falling for him and they were doing it too now.
But with me, it was different. Jelly told me Dave was slow and gentle, and I remember we almost broke our bed one night.
He kept trying harder. More fucking, more effort, more doing things which are risky. Like he needed to win something back that he never really had.
One day, at a college fest, we all ended up in a nice room. Things started going way too ahead, and we were all 4 doing it together. Since Aarav focused more on Jelly and Dave focused more on me. But it was not the same. The more I pulled away, the more intense he became. They were both at it and they noticed Dave was too comfortable with me. I was naked while Jelly was just without a top.
