This started 3 months ago.
My wife left her phone at home and ask me to relay any work related phone calls or text. So I wasn’t snooping on her phone.
A text came in from a guy. Saying he would pick up some unknown item at one of their lunches.
I knew then she was outright having an emotional affair. I confronted her once she got home. It didn’t go well……for me.
She explained to me that Jeffrey is a friend and very much a man’s man, and I need to appreciate that. I was at a loss. I didn’t think she would casually throw or many decades away like that.
She said we are going to his super bowl party. But before that he is coming over to get to know me. Which was this weekend. Before he came over my with making the guess bed up. She asked me if that’s enough covers to keep me warm. I didn’t even freeze. I instinctively said yes. She put an extra blanket at the foot of the bed. Before he came over she was up at 6 a.m rolls out of bed and gets ready and leaves. Text me she’s having breakfast with Jeffrey and for me to start dinner around 4:30 p.m and they would be home then.
I had spaghetti ready for us at 4:30 and they showed up laughing at 4:45. She introduced me to Jeffrey. He smiled and genuine smile and shook my hand. We set down to eat and Jeffrey took the seat at the head of the table. I just set on the opposite side of the table from my wife. He looked at her and said the meal was good. Then they held hands while they ate. After dinner Jeffrey retired to the living room and my wife and I cleaned up the dishes. While we were cleaning she said to me ” isn’t he wonderful” I said he likes you. She giggled and said she thinks so too.
We went into the living room and she sat down beside him. He point blank ask me to take off my wedding band. My wife was smiling and nodding like go ahead. So I took my band off and handed it to them. He pulled out a box and opened it to reveal a cute multi faceted diamond ring. He slipped in on my ring finger and said that its mine and hopes it will be a better replacement for the band. I looked down at it and swallowed hard. This wasn’t what I thought would happen. He then said he was tired because they had had a long day and wanted to shower and go to bed. We all stood up and they walked upstairs together leaving me alone in the living room. I marveled at the ring I was given. I actually smiled.
They slept in late and came down together. I had made coffee and was about to do a load of clothes. He told me to go change the sheets upstairs before breakfast. To my amazement I said yes sir. I caught myself looking over to my wife and she had a little smirk and was looking at Jeffrey with a sense of acknowledgement. It’s was humiliating and I got a little excited.
My wife said after I changed the sheets I was to put on the outfit she laid out.
